The Agreement

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Utah High Desert Rituals LLC. They apply at the moment you first access the website and continue to apply for as long as you use it or receive studio services. Additional terms may apply to a particular service where we say so in a written confirmation, and those terms form part of this agreement.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. A failure by us to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement about the website and supersede any earlier conversation about them.

Definitions

In these terms, the company, we, us and our mean Utah High Desert Rituals LLC. The website means every page served at highdesertrituals.hair. A guest means any person who visits the studio, books a service or contacts the studio. Studio services means the six services described on the services page and any related guidance given at the bench. Studio book means the private record of notes the company keeps at the studio. Content means text, images, layout, code and any other material on the website.

A bench hour means a scheduled appointment at the studio table. A seasonal ritual day and a smoke blend evening are group sessions held at the studio on announced dates. A desert walk session is a guided walk on public ground near Spanish Fork.

Acceptable Use of the Website

You may read, print and share the pages of the website for your own personal, non commercial use. You must not use the website in a way that is unlawful, harmful or disruptive. In particular you must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its hosting environment, interfere with the operation of the site, introduce malicious code, or use automated tools to scrape content at a volume that places a burden on our hosting provider.

You must not pretend to be another person when using the message desk, and you must not use the message desk to send unsolicited advertising. We may block access to the website where we reasonably believe that a person has broken these rules, and we may report serious misconduct to the relevant authority.

Studio Services

Utah High Desert Rituals LLC provides six services at its Spanish Fork studio. They are the Altar Fitting Desk, Sage Ceremony Rounds, Censer Care Weeks, Seasonal Ritual Days, Desert Walk Sessions and Smoke Blend Evenings. Descriptions on the services page are provided so that you know what to expect, but they are not a promise that every service will suit every guest. We will tell you honestly at the bench if a service is not the right answer for the object or the room you have.

The services are practical, material and educational in nature. They are not medical care, psychological therapy, religious instruction or spiritual counsel, and they do not replace advice from a qualified professional. Nothing we say or do at the studio should be treated as a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a religious ruling.

An Altar Fitting Desk produces a drawn plan and a set of test plates for a room. A Sage Ceremony Round teaches the binding of a bundle and the behaviour of its smoke. A Censer Care Week restores a working finish to a brass or iron bowl and records the condition of its fittings. A Seasonal Ritual Day brings guests together to compose the seasonal altar. A Desert Walk Session is a guided walk ending at a temporary altar on public ground. A Smoke Blend Evening is a weighing and mixing table for a personal dry blend. Each service is separate, and choosing one does not oblige you to choose another.

Bookings and Appointments

Bench hours are arranged by message through the contact page, by email at orders@highdesertrituals.hair or by telephone on +15015222411. A booking is not confirmed until we reply in writing with a date and time. Requests are kept in the order they arrive, and where a requested hour is already taken we will offer the next available option.

Please arrive on time for a bench hour. If you arrive more than fifteen minutes late, the session may be shortened so that a later guest is not kept waiting, or it may need to be rescheduled. If you know you will be late, send a short message and we will do what we can to accommodate you.

Group sessions, including seasonal ritual days and smoke blend evenings, are limited in numbers. A place is held for you once a booking is confirmed, and we ask for reasonable notice if you can no longer attend so that the place can be offered to another guest.

Censer Care Weeks require the object to stay at the studio for around six working days while resin is stripped and fittings are checked. We will note the expected collection day in writing when the censer is accepted. If the piece is not collected within thirty days of that day and we have not heard from you, we will contact you again before making any decision about storage.

Desert walk sessions are confirmed by message on the day before the walk so that we can check the weather, the route and the number of guests. If a walk is moved for safety, every confirmed guest is offered the next available date or a return of any amount paid for the session.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or move a bench hour, tell us as early as you can. We ask for at least twenty four hours of notice for an individual appointment and at least seventy two hours of notice for a group session. With that notice we can usually move the appointment to another open hour without charge.

Where a booking involved a non refundable material cost, for example a censer part ordered from a supplier, that cost may be retained when a cancellation is made with short notice. We will always explain any retention before it is applied. If we have to cancel an appointment, we will offer a new time or return any amount already paid for that appointment.

Weather can affect a seasonal ritual day or a desert walk session. Where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we may move a session to another date. We will contact every confirmed guest as soon as the decision is made.

Fees and Payment

Fees for studio services are given in writing before a booking is confirmed. Some services, such as a short consultation at the message desk, are provided without charge. Where a fee applies, we will state the amount, what it covers and when it is due. Payment methods are agreed at the time of booking.

Unless we say otherwise, fees are quoted in United States dollars and do not include any tax that may apply. Where tax is required, it will be added to the total and shown clearly. Material costs for special orders are quoted separately from the studio time.

If a fee is not paid when due, we may pause work on the service until payment is received. We will not begin a new booking while an earlier amount remains outstanding unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Guest Obligations

You agree to give accurate information to the studio, including the measurements, the condition of any object and any relevant safety matter in your home or on the route of a walk. You agree to treat the studio, its tools and its materials with care, and to follow reasonable instructions given at the bench.

You are responsible for your own belongings while you are at the studio or on a walk. Please do not bring valuable items that are not needed for the appointment. If you leave something behind, contact us and we will keep it for a reasonable period before disposing of it carefully.

Safety and Open Flame

Sage binding, censer lighting and smoke blend sessions involve open flame and smoke. Safety is treated as a first duty at every appointment. We light materials only in a stable bowl, on a non flammable surface, away from loose paper and cloth, and never leave a burning bundle unattended at the studio.

At home, you are responsible for following the safety instructions we provide. Keep burning materials well away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire. Open a window where possible, and never fall asleep with a bundle still burning. If you have a respiratory condition, are pregnant, or are sensitive to smoke, tell us before a session so that we can adjust the work or recommend an alternative.

Simple rule. If a bundle is lit, a person is watching it, and the bowl is on a solid surface that cannot burn. When the person leaves the room, the flame is out.

Materials and Availability

Our materials are natural and seasonal. Sage is bound from dried bundles that change in texture and scent through the year, juniper twine is prepared in small batches, and clay is fired in small runs. As a result, an item seen at one visit may not be identical at the next, and a colour or size may vary within a reasonable range.

Where a material is unavailable, we will offer a close alternative and explain the difference before any work begins. We do not use synthetic fragrance in the blends, and we do not substitute a material without telling you.

Desert Walk Conditions

Desert walk sessions take place on public mesa and canyon ground near Spanish Fork. A walk is a shared activity and every guest joins at their own risk. You are responsible for wearing suitable footwear, carrying water, protecting yourself from sun and following the route set by the guide.

We do not gather living plants on a walk and we leave every stone and every fallen branch where it lies. Guests are asked to follow the same rule. A walk may be shortened or moved where the ground is wet, where heat is excessive or where another safety concern arises.

Intellectual Property

The website and its content are owned by Utah High Desert Rituals LLC or used under permission. Content includes the written text, the layout, the naming of the services, the drawn plans we prepare and the code that runs the pages. You may not copy, republish or adapt the content for commercial use without our written permission.

An altar plan we draw for you is provided for your own use in your own home. You may photograph your finished altar and share it, but you may not resell the plan or present the studio method as your own commercial product. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved.

Disclaimers

The website and the studio services are provided on an as available basis. While we take care to keep the website accurate and available, we do not promise that it will always be free of errors or interruptions. Descriptions of services are given in good faith, and where a description conflicts with what we agree in writing for your booking, the written booking terms take precedence.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. Nothing in these terms limits a warranty or right that the law does not allow to be limited.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Utah High Desert Rituals LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising out of or related to the website or the studio services. This applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort, statute or another theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of the damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for a claim connected with a paid studio service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Utah High Desert Rituals LLC, its members and its staff from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal costs, arising from your misuse of the website, your breach of these terms, or your failure to follow the safety instructions we provide. This obligation does not apply to the extent that the claim results from our own negligence or misconduct.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end access to the website, or decline to accept a booking, where a person has broken these terms, has behaved abusively toward staff or guests, or has created a safety concern at the studio. We will tell the person the reason where it is safe and lawful to do so.

You may stop using the website at any time. Ending your use does not cancel a confirmed appointment or a payment obligation already agreed. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and the applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If a dispute arises, we ask that you first contact us at orders@highdesertrituals.hair so that we can try to resolve it directly and informally. Most questions are settled in a short conversation.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah County, Utah, and each party consents to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent relief where the law allows it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practice, in the law or in the studio services. The effective date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. Where a change is significant, we will make the new version available on the website and, where we have an email address and the change affects you, we will send a short notice.

Your continued use of the website after a change takes effect means that you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, please stop using the website and contact us about any appointment already booked.
